nanoloop one update via audio

About

Normally, voltage levels provided on a headphone jack / line out are not strong enough to be recognized as data by the Game Boy's link port circuit.

Therefore, this doesn't work on most computers.

On certain models though, for example MacBooks, it is possible to send data encoded as audio pulses to the Game Boy and update nanoloop one simply by playing an audio file. (It doesn't work with 2.x because GBA requires two-way communication).
All you need for this is a cable that connects the PC's audio out to the Game Boy's link port.

The Cable

Connect the wires of a link cable and a stereo audio cable as follows:

GND - GND
R - IN
L - CLK

(looking at the cable ends like on the image below)

The Audio File

nl175_audio_data.zip

Do not play the file though speakers or heaphones, it contains square waves at maximum level.

Update

- Download and unpack nl175_audio_data.zip.
- Disable system sounds (email notifications etc).
- Make sure the cable is plugged in the PC's headphone jack and
- sound does not play through speakers.
- Open nl175_audio_data.wav in a DAW such as Audacity
- Set the output level to maximum.
- Start the Game Boy and hold SELECT until the rhomb appears.
- Start playback.
- Press SELECT+START so that an "n" appears below the rhomb.

The first 5 seconds of the file are silence. The "n" needs to appear during this period.

When playback has finished after 2:30, the "n" should disappear and nanoloop 1.7.5 can be started with START.

If the "n" remains or the screen goes blank, the transfer was unsuccessful.

If nanoloop doesn't start anymore, hold SELECT during startup and then SELECT+START so that the "n" appears again and restart.
