MIDI-sync adaptor for nanoloop

This device allows to sync nanoloop as slave with other MIDI equipment. One end is a connector for the Game Boy's link port, the other is a male DIN / MIDI plug which fits with most MIDI equipment. The built-in circuit transmits incoming clock signals and start/stop commands while all other MIDI data are ignored. The circuit is  powered through the Game Boy's link port and therefore requires no external power source.

Please note:

The cable can only receive sync signals to adjust timing. It can not process other MIDI signals, so nanoloop can not be used as a MIDI synthsizer.

Another note:

To sync two nanoloops, you don't need a MIDI-sync cable but only a normal link cable for Game Boy which is a regular accessory and can usally be obtained the same place you can buy a Game Boy.

The cable works with all nanoloop versions.

Usage

- plug the cable into the Game Boy and the MIDI-device
- set the nanoloop sync mode to "external"
- make sure the MIDI-device is at the beginning of its sequence / song and not just paused
- start the MIDI-device

Availability

The cable will soon be available in form of a DIY kit iwth all required components (including PCB with pre-programmed controller).

If you also use LSDJ or are looking for a ready-made solution, please have a look at the firestarter cable (external link). It also works with all nanoloop versions.
